realized) but over the years of training, playing, working out, and going to school,
my health took a turn for the worse.

When I was in my last year of high school, I lost all of my hair to an auto-immune
condition called Alopecia.

No Thanks Doc, I Don't Need Your Needles!

In trying to heal myself, I went to doctor after doctor and saw all the specialists. But they all told me the same thing...

That they didn't know what caused my condition or how to treat it other than "keeping it at bay" by injecting cortisone directly into my scalp.

Obviously, I declined.

A few years later, my burning desire to learn more about my own health and performance propelled me to complete a graduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from the University of Toronto.

But even after 4 years at one of the best schools in the world, my health and energy were no better than before. I was still sleeping 8-10 hours a night and always in need of a 2 hour nap every afternoon, just to make it through the day.

And then the phone rang...

It was my agent, who had secured a deal for me to play soccer professionally in France. And off I went. Health issues, energy-drained, and all. I needed to pursue my dream. I thought that all this stuff would just go away once "I made it".

Boy was I ever wrong...

Because things got worse very quickly.

Since I was training twice a day and playing 1-2 games per week my body couldn't keep up. It was breaking down and I was constantly tired. I continued taking more naps than a newborn baby...

That's certainly no way to live!

To boot, my suffocating childhood asthma and eczema had made a dramatic comeback and I didn't know why.

Even my steroid puffers couldn't help.

And the itching! Oh my.

My eczema was worse than ever. I couldn't stop itching my hands - they were covered in red, patchy blisters. I would have amputated them if I could have.

Looking back on those days, I can NOW tell you exactly what went wrong...

...All of my health challenges (the hair loss, the lack of energy, the asthma and eczema) were all a result of abusing my body for years with terrible food choices...

Foods that created huge amounts of acidity in my body...foods that were void of vital nutrients...foods that were heavily cooked and processed...foods that were no longer alive - and nor was I.

You are what you eat so I guess it was fitting that I felt "dead" all the time.

Eventually, these foods overloaded my body and sent my immune system into a frenzy, resulting in health problems.

I Was Lost...I Was Clueless About How to Eat Well

Not having the basic knowledge of how to eat well was killing me — slowly but surely.

And that's when the idea hit me!

I recalled that a friend had given me a set of audios from motivational speaker (and later one of my mentors) Tony Robbins. They had been collecting dust in my basement for months, as I didn't really believe in that "kind of stuff" at the time.

But since I was in desperate need of motivation I dug the CDs out from the box where they'd been collecting dust for months, and listened to them.

I Thought I Had a Healthy Diet Until One Day...

My life changed big time after becoming a holistic nutritionist. I was exposed to information that I never even knew existed. And this is even after graduating from one of the top 25 universities in the world with a Bachelors of Physical Education and Health!

We are the only creatures on earth who cook their foods - we also exhibit the most disease - while 99.99% of the plant foods on our planet are available in their raw state. In fact, it has been shown that cooking a potato creates over 400 known, unknown, and dangerous compounds!

Eating food that has been cooked above 180 degrees Fahrenheit causes a pathogenic response in the body called leukocytosis whereby the white blood cells (immune cells) are actually used to digest foods much as they would attack foreign substances.

What this means to you is that your body no longer operates as it should when it eats dead foods.
